How does this contest work?

To enter, simply text the keyword you hear on the radio (one time only) to 72881 before the top of the hour.
There will be a new keyword up to 11x every weekday and you can enter once each time, up to 11x per day.
Winners are chosen at random from all entries received for each contest play and there are 11x winners chosen per day.
Entries are only valid for that hour’s contest play. If you enter at 8am, your entry is for the 8am hour contest play only. It will not count toward the 9am contest play (or any others throughout the day).

How do I know if my entry was received?

You will get a bounceback message that says:
Your $1000 National Cash Contest entry has been rcvd. If you are the winner, you’ll be notified via phone call. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help
It can take up to 30 minutes to receive this message.
If you received a different message, scroll to the bottom of this page.

How are winners selected?

Winners are chosen at random from all entries received for each contest play and there are 11x winners per day.

When are winners selected?

For the $1000 National Cash Contest, winners are notified via telephone (never text message) within 72 hours of the contest play.

What number will call me if I won? / I don’t answer phone numbers that I don’t know.

We have a team of folks all over the country that call winners so there is not one specific area code we can give you. If you are a winner, we will call you up to 3 (three) times within a 30-minute window. We will not leave a voicemail.

Who will be calling me if I won?

There will be a live person from the Audacy Audio and Contest Department on the phone who will identify themselves as being from Audacy Radio. We don’t use robots or pre-recorded messages.

I got a phone call but it got disconnected.

If the call was from us and we got disconnected, we’d call you back immediately.

Can you text me if I win?

For the $1000 National Cash Contest, winners are notified via telephone, not text message.

I never hear winners. Who won? Is this a SCAM?

Absolutely not. Audacy is a Leading American Media and Entertainment Company and America’s #1 creator of live, original, local audio content. We have 100+ million fans and are one of US’s two largest radio broadcasters with 235+ radio stations, covering 90% of top 50 U.S. markets.
For this contest, stations have the option but are not required to air winners.
For a winner list, mail a self-addressed stamped envelope (VT residents may omit return postage) to 2400 Market St. 4th Floor. Philadelphia, PA 19103 addressed to “Q2/Q3 2021 Audacy National Cash Contest.”
All requests for winner lists must be mailed and received after the Contest is over but prior to six (6) months after the Contest has been concluded.

Does this contest cost any money to play?

Absolutely not. We do not charge any money to participate.

I keep hearing “Message & Data Rates Apply” on the radio. What does that mean?

That terminology is to let you know that you may be subject to message and data rate fees from your wireless carrier based on your individual mobile plan.
As noted above, we do not charge any fees to participate in the contest but we’re required to disclose that message and data rates may apply, again, based on your individual mobile plan.

How old do you have to be to play or win?

Entrants and winners for this contest must be 18 years of age or older.

I received a different bounceback or think that my entry was not received.

If not, here are some possible reasons:
Please make sure the shortcode (number) you used is 72881.
Please double check the keyword you heard on the radio.
While we try to not use words that rhyme or are hard to spell, if the keyword, for example, was BAN and you entered FAN, your entry would not be received.
